Sheffield AGM - 2nd September - A summary from notes by Neil Limbert

Unfulfilled Vacancies. The proposal to compel promotion (where nobody applies for the vacancy) was defeated. The vote actually went 12-11 in favour of the new change but required a two-thirds majority so the motion was defeated.

The rule to change Division 1 to 6 players caused considerable intense debate. The motion was eventually defeated by 14 votes to 12 so Division 1 stays at 8 players.

Nomads A did not accept promotion to the 1st division - the casual vacancy went to Rotherham Juniors A (uncontested). Division 1 will therefore comprise :- Nomads A, Woodseats A, University A, Chesterfield A, Ecclesall A, Phoenix A, Barnsley A, Worksop A, Rotherham Juniors A.

Worksop had declined promotion the previous year but, having secured the services of Jim Burnett, they have now accepted.

Barnby Dun have left the League altogether!

Nomads C accepted promotion to Division 2.
The Division 2 line-up is:- Ecclesall B, Nomads B, Nomads C, SASCA A, Phoenix B, Stannington A, Clay Cross A, Aughton A, Barnsley B.

All Fees and subscriptions stayed the same.

Resignations.

Bill Ward, who has been very ill, tendered his resignation as General Secretary but nobody volunteered to take his place. Bill eventually said he would carry on.

Mike Brumby stated he was also resigning as Treasurer at the end of the season - again nobody volunteered to take his place.
