2008 Five Minute Quickplay Grand Prix

Over the past few months a series of five minute quickplay events have taken place at the chess club.
Here are the current standings after four events, the best three results counting.
The last five minute quickplay is on the 1st September.

Note: The points totals do not match the progressive round scores.

Eight players contested a double round all-play-all. Four players were in contention halfway through the event although Tony Farrell and Ken Hunter pulled away to share the honours. Tony won the individual games 2-0.

Nine players contested a single round all-play-all. The result was in doubt until the end of the last round with top seed Andrew Butterworth emerging as the winner.

Re-arranged league games that week meant that only Richard Hall and Vlad Shaposhnikov attended .
Vlad took the honours by repeatedly and comprehensively beating Richard 8-2 in games.
