Barnsley Club Championship

Gary Hinchcliffe intends to hold a club championship for 2012. This will be in the form of an open, 5 round swiss, with all players playing five games.

The last Tuesday of every month (May, June, July, August and September) has been allocated in this year's calendar of events to play championship games. Players can arrange games at an agreed venue. All results must be in by the last Tuesday of that month otherwise both players will be scored zero.

Time limits and rules will be as in the Sheffield league - The first 30 moves in one hour, then clocks put back 15 minutes for a blitz finish.

There will be an entry fee of £3 (to be collected on the first night).

Main prizes and grading prizes will be awarded dependant on entries. It is hoped to have as many graded sections as possible to give everyone the chance to win a prize.
