Events for Summer 2009

Warm up match for the new season - Tuesday 22nd September

We invite all members to attend on Tuesday 22nd September to a warm up match for the new season. Members will be split into two teams of equal strength and games will be played under match conditions. Hopefully everyone should play someone of roughly equal grade to themselves.
Note the date has been moved forward one week because of a possible fixture clash.

Tony Pogson won the fifth and final quickplay event held to finish top of the Five Minute Quickplay Grand Prix.
He was closely pursued by Ken Hunter who came second throughout the event.

Dates for your diary

Sheffield and District Chess Association Annual General Meeting
Wednesday 2nd September at Nomads.

The Association is seeking to fill the posts of General Secretary, Treasurer and Chief of the Executive. A new post of archivist is also proposed.
In a repeat of last year another proposal for a six board first division has been received.
More details can be found on the Sheffield and District Chess Association website.
